A hen weekend in the city, without leaving the city
A weekend away with your closest friends does not need a flight. A suite, a pool, a spa and a rooftop in Colombo 3 cover most of what a hen weekend is for.
Some weekends need a beach and a five-hour drive. A hen weekend, in our experience, needs a good pool, a spa that can take four people at once, somewhere to have a long dinner and a suite big enough for everyone to get ready in. All of that is in one building in Colombo 3, and nobody has to pack for the road.
Saturday
Arrive after lunch. The Luxury Junior Suites are 475 square feet with a four-poster bed and a bath, and the Luxury Duplex Suite is spread over two levels, which makes it the natural headquarters. Spend the afternoon at the pool and in the jacuzzi, with drinks from Amber Poolside brought to the loungers.
Book The Court Spa for the late afternoon. Two people can be treated side by side, so a group of four works in two sittings, and manicures and pedicures can be done between them. Then get ready together, slowly.
Saturday night
Cloud Café & Bar opens at half past five on the roof. Happy hour runs until eight, the cocktail list is long, and the sharing platters are made for a table that keeps ordering. Dinner under the glass roof, and the city is at your feet if you decide to go on afterwards. Cabs back are easy at any hour.
Sunday
Breakfast by the pool, as late as half past ten. A last swim. Check-out is at noon, and a late check-out can be arranged if the night ran long. If you would like the whole thing organised, from the flowers in the suite to a private table, tell us; bride-to-be weekends are something our events team put together often, and they are good at it.
