What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage and tracking pixels, do much the same job, and this policy covers them too. Some are needed for a website to work; others help its owner understand how the site is used or show relevant advertising elsewhere.
This policy applies to colombocourthotel.com, which is operated by Colombo Court Hotel (Pvt) Ltd under the brand name Colombo Court Hotel & Spa, 32 Alfred House Avenue, Colombo 3, Sri Lanka.
Your choice, and how we ask for it
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. Nothing except what the site needs in order to work runs until you choose.

The analytics and marketing tools report in aggregate. We use them to see which pages people read and whether our advertising works, not to identify you. Google, Microsoft and Meta process this information under their own privacy policies, and some of that processing may take place outside Sri Lanka.
Microsoft Clarity also records how pages are used (scrolling, taps and clicks, with anything typed into a form masked) so that we can see where a page is hard to use. If you accept, a few actions on this site (starting a booking, opening WhatsApp, calling or emailing us, opening a menu, sending an enquiry) are also reported to Meta by our own server through Meta’s Conversions API, carrying the same event so that it is counted once. That copy includes the pixel identifier above, your IP address and your browser type, and never your name, email address or phone number. Choosing Essential only stops all of it.
Other services you may use from this website
Booking a room
When you check availability or book, you move to our online reservation system, which is run by SiteMinder and sets the cookies it needs to hold your booking. SiteMinder’s own privacy and cookie notices apply there.
Films
Where a page shows a film from YouTube, it is loaded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode from youtube-nocookie.com, and only once you have accepted cookies.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is kept on our own server, in the hotel’s guest records, and used only to send you our newsletter. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove your address at any time.
WhatsApp, maps and reviews
Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps, Tripadvisor, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn are ordinary links. Nothing from those services loads on our pages; their own cookies and policies apply once you follow a link to them.
Controlling and deleting cookies
As well as the choice in our banner, every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and site data in its settings, usually under privacy or security. Blocking all cookies will not stop this website working, although it will mean the banner appears on every visit.
You can also stop Google Analytics on every website you visit with Google’s browser add-on, and control the advertising you see from Meta in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
Changes to this policy
If the tools this website uses change, we will update this policy and the date at the top. If a change needs your agreement, the cookie banner will ask you again.
