Come Visit Sri Lanka
Endless beaches, timeless ruins, welcoming people, oodles of elephants, rolling surf, cheap prices, fun trains, famous tea and flavourful food make Sri Lanka irresistible. Yes, it may have been a place not to go for a little while, but Sri Lanka is back on the tourist map and it’s here to stay!
Recovering from the attacks of the 21st of April has been no easy feet by any means. However, the people of Sri Lanka persisted and have brought the beautiful island nation back to where it was as a safe place and a great destination. Security measures implemented throughout the country and specially at hotels and public establishments are always on hand to ensure the safety of all.
Travel publisher Lonely Planet is still listing Sri Lanka as the top destination for 2019. “While we don’t discount the fear many travellers feel, we should not allow events like this to deter us from continuing to explore, learn and break down stereotypes,” Lonely Planet writer Caterina Hrysomallis said in a feature published in the portal this week, titled Why I won’t give up on Sri Lanka and you shouldn’t either. She said Sri Lanka deserves the top spot for its food, ‘epic train rides’, and scenic hills and beaches.
To nudge you just a little bit more, hotels and tourist establishments all over the country are offering even lower rates and prices than before!
