Pinnawala Day Tour
Pinnawala Orphanage is home to some 60 or more elephant orphans; bottle fed, bathed and taken care of by their foster fathers at Pinnawala. This orphanage was started in 1972 and has evolved into a sanctuary for elephant orphans. The Pinnawala elephant orphanage has specific bathing and feeding times for the elephants and feeding happens an hour early before their bathes.
Visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala. Feed baby elephants and see the herd bathing in the river. A day of awe at the elephant orphanage is not to be missed.
Tour Itinerary 01
- 06.00AM – Depart from Colombo Court Hotel & Spa. Take away breakfast can be arranged. - 3 hours drive depending on the traffic conditions.
- 012.9.15AM – Bottle feeding of baby elephants
- 10.00AM – Herd leaving to the river
- 00 NOON – Herd returning from the river
- 03.00PM – Depart from Pinnawala
- 06.30PM – Arrive at Colombo Court Hotel & Spa
